Oceana Rooftop

At Oceana Residence in Koh Samui, the design brief began with an empty rooftop and a clear ambition: transform it into a destination that feels both elevated and inviting. The challenge was to create a space with the relaxed atmosphere of a beach club while preserving the comfort, intimacy, and functionality expected within a residential development. Rather than pushing too far in one direction, the concept was carefully balanced between leisure and everyday living. The result is a rooftop environment designed for guests and residents alike, where social energy, comfort, and architectural restraint come together in a seamless contemporary setting..

Guided by the rooftop’s open exposure, the design was shaped around its strongest natural asset: the sea view and the dramatic sunset beyond it. The spatial language draws from tropical contemporary principles, combining clean architectural lines with soft, resort-inspired materials, generous lounging areas, and a fluid connection to the surrounding landscape. Every element was considered to enhance the experience of being above the island, from the orientation of the seating to the calm rhythm of the layout. The final composition offers a refined rooftop retreat that feels relaxed, elegant, and unmistakably connected to Koh Samui’s coastal atmosphere at every moment.
